A little more than you may want to know...

Well, for starters my name is Bill Whaley and I live in Grovetown, GA (USA) just outside of Augusta. As a militry brat, I've lived in several parts of the country, but decided to come back to my hometown. The Augusta, GA area really is a pretty good place to live when compared to other places I've been.

As for me, I'm 6'2", blue eyes, and brown hair...well what's left of it that is. :-) In my spare time I enjoy messing with my computers at home of course, spending time outside, cooking, and curling up in front of a good movie with my wife.

On the note of movies, I love most any kind from action to sci-fi to the tear jerkers. I have to admit though, the sci-fi types are my favorites. Some of my favorites are The Star Wars Series, Dune, Star Trek, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Hope Floats, My Best Friend's Wedding, the Matrix Trilogy, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, City of Angels and Message in a Bottle (Just to name some of the heavy hitters).

Now my choices in music aren't too bad. I pretty much can listen to anything but rap. Not to put it down or anything, but it just isn't my style. I like most country, jazz, 80´s, & pop/rock. One would say that your listening to way too many different types of music, but I can say that there are way too many different moods to be stuck with just one! Yeah, it sounds crazy, but it's me.

As I alluded to above, I'm happily married to a wonderful woman. We flew to Maui for a romantic sunset wedding on the beach and then spent the remainder of the week there for our honeymoon. It doesn't get any better than being married to your "best friend". Here is a link to the photos from our wedding.

We attract love by the emotions we display; we retain love by the emotions we possess...

I am a Christian, struggling as most of us do. I have found here recently, that so long as I try to honor God in everything that I do, I can not go wrong. We tend to put our own twist on things to somewhat justify what, in most cases, we do or do not do...both the good and the bad. By praying about it and burying yourself in the word however, I believe we find direction. A little while back, a friend of mine told me in doing the above you will find peace; and with that peace will come understanding, answers and the direction you seek. Follow this link if you want to read more on my Christian Walk / Views.

I work for Southern Company at the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant and have been there since 1989. I spent the first 16 years working as an Instruments and Controls Technician, focusing a good portion of my time on our microprocessor based systems in the plant. After working with computers for for a while (at work and at home), I decided to pursue a B.S. in Computer Science from Troy University. I transferred to our IT Department as Systems Analyst for interfacing to our plant engineered systems and cyber security program. What can I say? I really enjoy working on and with all types of computer systems. Southern Company is a great company to work for. Take a look at what it has to offer here on their Jobsource.

My girls!

I have two beautiful daughters as you can see above. Our kids grow up quick...next thing you know...off to college! They are a huge part of my life and just one of the many blessings that God has given me.

The last peice of boring information about me is that I love to cook. <Sure you do>, you say, but it is alot of fun so see what you can dream up in the kitchen. It's good to splurge a little every now and then. Of course, along with the cooking comes the dishes, which I'm not crazy about.....but my wife and I have a great deal...I do the cooking and she handles the dishes. I like to cook anything from traditional dishes we are all used to, on up to Chinese or Italian. Here are a couple of great recipe sites, Recipezaar and Robbie's Recipes.
